French Train beats World Record for Speediest Wheel-to-Rail Train

A French Train a Grande Vitesse (TGV) broke the World Speed Record for wheel-to-rail train travel yesterday, travelling at 574.8 kp/h. Although it was hard for many passengers to merely stand up at that speed, the driver of the train was very happy as the train reached it's top speed.

Although the official record for world's speediest train belong to the Japanese "Bullet" train (think MagLevs) the train was still considered an excellent achievement. The previous record was also set in France, back in 1990.

That is a train that I bet Dagny Taggart would love to know about if she were real!
