New Direction for France?

Now that Sarkozy finally won the French election, will France finally start moving away from the rather depressing state that I've described below, or it will start flourishing under a new-found free-market luster?

Only time will tell.

Lastly, is anyone surprised at the (albeit small) riots they've had over there after hearing of their new President. Good ol' France.
